We started our unit Young Scientists and the children are so thrilled. They are exploring, observing and communicating while making sense of all the things around them.
What is in the box??? "I think its a new toy or may be it's a cat....But I dont hear a noise....hmmm...it's an empty box..."
Wonder what's in it?
Pipes and connectors.
"Let"s sort them according to colour and work in two groups."
Can we start making it vertically and then have a few pipes horizontally??
Mrs. Gaskell was amazed at the thinking skills, problem solving skills and the language that was used by the Busy Bees.
"Can we pour in some water and check with the whole system works?"
"Where would the water come out from?"
"Can we try to use a different pipe this time to pour in the water?"
"I want to do something different, I am going to use a plastic orange and drop it down the pipe."
"Ops, I can't see the orange. Is it stuck?? what can we do?"
"I will help you, let's find the orange , it's stuck some where between the pipes."
"This is me playing with my friends with the pipes."
We had a little visitor last week, Tomie.....The children were excited and wanted to have a closer look at him. We had a great discussion about the way we have changed.
Gretcher had a little surprise for the Busy Bees. Can you guess the title of the book?? Jingle bells!!! The children had a great time listening to the story and singing their favorite Christmas song.
Mr. Prewitt read us a story about sharing which ties in well with the season. The Little Rainbow Fish is a story well loved by children around the world.
Happy Birthday Luke!!!
New toys and new discoveries....
The children are having a great time sorting, pushing, pulling and communicating to each other while working on their fine-motor skills.
