Invitation to draw
Setting out a vase of fresh flowers with four blank white papers and water colours, is such an invitation for young adults to try their skills in art. Asking open questions, promote curiosity as they draw: what colour are the petals? are they the same shape? where is the stem?? is the stem underneath the water and how does it look in water? The answers are different from each other and this simple activity helps the children think deeper and investigate more.
Colour and light
We are experimenting with our overhead projector, combining colour and light to make things interesting.
Art inspiration with leaves
What are the little lines called ?? Veins. That sounds like planes.
Exploring colours in the Busy Bee classroom
We read the book "Little blue and little Yellow" and tried mixing playdough to create a new colour.
The boys pretended to be "Little blue" and" little yellow."
We worked hard on mixing the two colours.
The boys are using the magnifying glasses to make sure that every bit of "Playdough" is turned into green.
"Look my ball of playdough looks like the earth."
"Blue, blue, everything around me is blue!!"
A step further
Will it float or will it sink?
The Busy Bees are learning to ask and answer scientific questions by making observations and doing experiments.

- Construct a Hypothesis
- By asking questions and using their prior knowledge the children are sorting the pictures into two different categories. Things that float and things that sink.
Experimenting
Analysing the data and checking their results
Using different types of mirrors to see little objects
Is it a high pitch sound or a low pitch sound?

Special helpers for the week
Responsive Classroom Morning Meeting is an engaging way to start each day, build a strong sense of community, and set children up for success socially and academically. Each morning, we gather together in a circle for fifteen minutes and interact with one another during four purposeful components:
Morning greeting
Reading the morning message
Choosing two songs
Sharing important events
